If you want to succeed in the hospitality industry, you need to be responsive, alert and mindful of their guests’ needs and desires. A small slipup can lead to a landslide of mistakes that result in a restaurant or resort that is poorly reviewed and quickly headed for disaster. Fortunately, hospitality veteran Andrew Williams was kind enough to stop by the That Bad Review podcast and give a few golden pieces of advice for navigating the minefield that is the hospitality business.
As a former food and beverage manager for businesses like the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and NRMA resorts, Andrew has learned that managing a destination is all about anticipating the needs of the guests. Happy guests, he says, lead to repeat customers and positive word-of-mouth recommendations that increase overall revenue. Andrew is incredibly passionate about the industry and was happy to share his mistakes and life lessons on our latest episode.
